Development
We provide our clients with complex legal services related to the construction, lease, purchase and sale of real estate. We pride ourselves on providing a comprehensive legal service for our clients from the moment the client decides to proceed with the development to the sale, peaceful enjoyment or lease of their property. We represent the client before the administrative authorities in all matters related to the construction and prepare contractual documentation for the building, lease or transfer of existing immovable property, including the processing of changes in the Land Registry.
We have extensive experience leasing prime non-residential space in Prague and other major cities, especially office and retail spaces. In addition, when providing legal services related to immovable property, we pay increased attention to tax law issues, which distinguishes us from our competitors and increases the financial advantage of the disposal of immovable property for our clients.
Payments related to real estate transfers are made in attorney’s escrows in specially established escrow accounts held with reputable Western European banks. These accounts and the funds deposited in them are kept separate from the accounts of our law firm, thus ensuring high protection of the funds entrusted to us and transparent handling of them.
This specialisation includes legal services related to:
- complex support for developers,
- strategic planning of development projects,
- representing clients in acquiring suitable land for development,
- construction of buildings and construction rights,
- lease of non-residential and residential premises,
- real estate transfers,
- representing clients before administrative authorities,
- providing legal services for real estate agencies,
- mediation of investments in real estate,
- providing escrows as a method of payment for immovable property.

Taxes
We represent our clients in tax proceedings before the tax and customs administration and in tax disputes in the administrative courts. In this area, we offer superior legal services based on our team members‘ legal and tax expertise, who provide these commercial legal services on a large scale and teach tax law at Czech universities and collaborate on drafting legislation.
The direct involvement of our team members in the legislative process brings clear benefits to our clients as we prepare our clients for future legislation well in advance as part of our legal services.
In this area, we also work closely with external tax advisors and accountants and take advantage of consulting with the Ministry of Finance and central tax and customs authorities.
This specialisation includes legal services related to:
- tax disputes in the administrative justice system,
- tax advisory services,
- representation in proceedings before the tax and customs administrations,
- analysing and advising on the tax law context of our client’s commercial and investment matters,
- advising on tax law issues related to the disposal of real estate.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)
We advise our clients on the acquisition of a company or a business plant, even in cases where the companies are established for development projects. We provide them with comprehensive services ranging from discussing their intentions and the appropriate direction of the entire project, through planning the strategy of the procedure and carrying out legal and accounting due diligence on the acquisition goal, to the preparation of the necessary contractual documentation, including its negotiation, either alongside or on behalf of the client. Our goal is to provide comprehensive legal services to guide clients through the entire acquisition process to achieve their goals successfully.
Each acquisition requires the design of an individual legal structure for the entire process and the legal documentation package. Likewise, it is essential to secure appropriate acquisition financing. Therefore, we prepare the unique design of the whole process for our clients and then support them in the separate stages or handle the individual steps towards the goal on a turnkey basis.
We also carry out a thorough legal audit of the target company or business plant, a prerequisite for a successful acquisition. If the conditions for complete due diligence are not met, we design an appropriate system of contractual guarantees to replace this legal audit to the maximum extent materially.
Every acquisition also requires careful consideration of all tax implications, so we use our expertise to effectively combine the legal, tax and accounting advice provided by our team members within the law firm. As a result, we can address our clients‘ requirements quickly, efficiently and comprehensively.
This specialisation includes legal services related to:
- preliminary assessment of the legal and financial issues of the contemplated acquisition necessary for the decision to start the acquisition process,
- designing the acquisition process of the target object,
- preparing the optimal structure of the legal documentation required for the acquisition,
- performing legal due diligence as well as tax and accounting audit of the acquisition target,
- legal provision of internal and external financing for the acquisition, both bank and credit, including raising investment funds on the financial markets (e.g. bond financing),
- representing the client in negotiations with persons representing the acquisition target, both directly on behalf of the client and as legal support in negotiations,
- carrying out the acquisition process under its name on behalf of the client so that the client is not known to the surrounding community until the successful completion of the acquisition or for an extended period.

Family law
We provide our clients with a wide range of legal services in family law. Everyone’s family is different, and every family has its own set of rules; we are aware of this and pride ourselves on an individual approach to each case. We always try to interfere as little as possible with the regulations set in the family and guide our clients to an amicable solution to a difficult life situation. Our priority is the children in cases where it is impossible to resolve the matter amicably. It is always necessary to adjust the circumstances and determine who will care for them and provide for their needs daily.
In the area of family law, we provide all services relating to:
1. Modification of custody, upbringing and support of the child (the court must always decide the custody, upbringing and support of a minor child), which is why our practice deals with, among other things:
- preparing a custody and parenting agreement (if the parents can agree);
- preparing a motion to modify the custody, upbringing and support of a minor child (if the parents cannot agree);
- preparing an action to increase or decrease child support;
- preparing for modification of parent-child contact;
- establishing or denying paternity;
- enforcement of child support;
- representation in these proceedings in court.
2. Divorce of marriage (marriage is a so-called „status issue“, and such issues are always decided by the court, but the court is only authorised to rule on the motion of one or both spouses), so we specialise in:
- preparation of an action for divorce of marriage;
- preparing an agreement on the division of the matrimonial property;
- matters relating to the alimony of the divorced spouse.
3. Matrimonial property law (apart from the emotional ties between family members, it is typical for family law that the family acquires some property value), so for our clients:
- we prepare an agreement to reduce or extend the matrimonial property
- we prepare a registration of the reduction or extension of the marital property in the List of Deeds on the matrimonial property regime maintained by the Notary Chamber of the Czech Republic;
- we represent them in negotiations with the notary and the negotiation of the agreement on the reduction or extension of the marital property.

Investments
We provide our clients with legal services related to the provision of services and trading in the financial markets. In particular, we focus on services relating to investments in financial markets, both for investors and investment intermediaries, investment companies or securities dealers or banks.
We have experience representing clients who have had their investments devalued by the unlawful conduct of investment service providers or who have suffered harm in using payment services, various financial services such as life insurance or saving for post-retirement. Similarly, we represent clients who have used multiple forms of credit. We also have practical experience of proceedings before a financial arbitrator.
For management companies, investment firms and investment intermediaries, we provide legal services related to the operation of their businesses, including compliance services. Most often, however, we represent our clients in proceedings before the Czech National Bank, whether licensing or sanction proceedings or in the context of its inspections.
This specialisation includes legal services related to:
- representing clients in proceedings before a financial arbitrator,
- representing clients in court proceedings,
- representing clients in proceedings before the Czech National Bank,
- representing clients in audits of the Czech National Bank,
- advocating for the protection of financial services clients,
- setting up management and control systems for management companies, investment firms, investment intermediaries, and banks.

Litigation strategy
When preparing a litigation strategy, we anticipate the opposing party’s actions and manage the litigation to achieve the goal we have set with the client.
What does litigation strategy involve?
- Anticipating the opposing party’s actions
- We think about the events and reactions the opposing party may take in the litigation.
- We design the ideal procedural course of action to achieve the set goal
- We use strategy to gain an evidentiary advantage in litigation
- Through this process, we can correct existing imbalances in the system
Broader goals and more challenging cases require a strategist who is more familiar with and understands the tools of litigation strategy. Our attorneys are just that!

About our law firm
Our law firm was established in Prague on 1st January 2012 and gradually has been developing since its inception with an increase in personnel. Although it is currently based in Olomouc, its specialised services are sought by clients from all over the Czech Republic and from Slovakia, Germany, Austria, and the UK, including branches of large European corporations.
Our lawyers specialise in financial law, particularly financial markets law and tax law. They also have extensive experience in real estate law, ranging from managing matters related to real estate construction to contractual arrangements for its lease or sale. Likewise, they provide their clients with a full range of corporate legal services, commercial contractual agenda and management of their claims. Legal advice provided to clients in acquiring companies and business establishments is also one of our core legal services.
In their work, our lawyers always ensure that the economic and tax consequence is carefully considered during the implementation of each legal action of their clients, which significantly distinguishes our law firm from most competing law firms. In addition, our law firm has long worked with carefully selected experts in related branches and, therefore, also provides or arranges the services of executors, insolvency administrators, and financial and accounting advice.
As the firm’s lawyers are also actively involved in the legislative process of the Czech Republic, they have the advantage of detailed knowledge of the upcoming legislation. They can thus inform their clients about specific forthcoming changes that affect them and help them to prepare for these changes correctly.
The number of lawyers at our law firm allows individual and non-anonymous cooperation with clients in addressing their legal needs. As a result, each client knows which concrete person is working on their matter. The reasonable size of the law firm and the use of modern software solutions for administration and communication with clients is also why legal services can be provided to clients at the highest level at very competitive contract prices.

Information for clients
Consumers are always informed of the costs involved in addressing their legal needs in advance. We believe that only with specific and detailed knowledge of these costs can they decide how to manage their legal problems.
Our law firm provides legal services at contractual prices that reflect the complexity and difficulty of the offered legal services, their overall scope, their language, etc. We agree with our clients to charge according to the time scope of the services provided or set on a contractual flat rate basis. The contractual fee may be arranged as a fixed fee, time-based fee or a share-based fee. A fixed fee is determined by an agreed amount for a specific legal matter. A time-based fee is negotiated as an amount per unit of time, most commonly an amount per hour. A contingent fee is often set as a percentage of the value of the matter in dispute. When billing for legal services, the client is made aware of the various items of legal services that are billed.
Suppose the contractual fee is not agreed upon with the client. In that case, we proceed by the law and calculate the attorney’s cost by Decree of the Ministry of Justice No. 177/1966 Coll. on attorneys‘ fees and compensation for providing legal services. This Decree sets the price for an act in a legal case at the so-called tariff value. The Decree also sets out what is considered a legal service act. Therefore, when calculating the lawyer’s fee, the number of acts of legal service is multiplied by the tariff value determined according to the Decree.
By Section 14 of Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection, our law firm at this moment informs its clients that the Czech Bar Association, with its registered office at Národní 16, 110 00 Prague, www.cak.cz, has been authorised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic to settle out-of-court consumer disputes in disputes between attorneys and consumers arising from contracts for legal services.
